Thanks for fixing things up there.
Aug 14 2015
Ahh, interesting. Yes, I did.

I was feeling particularly creative today
You have succeeded where I failed ><

Some perspectives from what my users complain about to me w.r.t. mail:

Copied, from T7605, but I do something similar to this.

Overlap post, but yeah. I don't want to take up your time. Would upstream be interested in a patch hiding it or should I keep it to myself?
Yeah, understood. I was more just trying to emphasize how broken it was.
I don't so much care about getting the reporting as much as not having bad reporting.

Yes, I've seen that link. I was just letting you know since it seemed like it was in active development right now.

but actually I'm jealous of all the shiny badges
Jul 18 2015
Woah, same thing for me. Had no idea.

Specifically, it seems to order by color, but not by flag time within each color
Jul 13 2015
That's what I meant by embedded, yeah.
FWIW, confirming that it also occurs for Firefox 38.0 on Linux Mint 17.
Jul 12 2015
Oh I can reproduce it on secure.phab now depending on how zoomed in I am.
Windows 7.

To chime in on the hijacked direction of this thread. I had my users switch from XMPP/pidgin to conpherence for a week to see how viable it was. Here were the main complaints. My comments are added at the end of some in italics.

This happens for svn too, but I can't say it's bothered me. I certainly don't find it to be a helpful message though either. The first time I saw it, I had to come here and look up what it indicated and whether or not I should care.

I told my team to evaluate conpherence as a replacement for hipchat/internal xmpp. So just a generic IM system but more integrated with development process.
Well, for this guy I suspect it's like 20 (which is what I ended up settings ours to). Certainly for me I have more than 5 active-ish.
Of course it's useful, it's a widget!
Thanks for the feedback.

Much heart
I'll let you guys figure out what you want; I was merely remarking on my confusion.
To document
- every message @btrahan sent me came in duplicated at first (first screenshot)
- None of the message I sent showed as duplicated for me
- Suspecting maybe some weird firefox behavior, I opened a chrome side-by-side
- My cross-browser messages also showed duplicated (second screenshot)
Gotcha. Nothing major, but I ran into a few things:
Part of this may be related to my lack of clarity of the difference between Rooms and Messages.
Reopening in case that sets off Herald for some people.
I still occasionally see messages being duplicated. I updated this past weekend.

As a note, the title tagging you did in D13040: [Redesign] Add back limited header-color options, is basically how I've been having users do this in my install. We've been putting the logical project/branch like [branch_name] in a lot of titles to get that info into the major panels so that diffs don't require a clickthrough for context.
May 24 2015
For SVN, how will this differ from current workflow when we have two working diffs from same repo but different "projects"? Will we now need to specify --update and --revision for arc diff and arc commit where we wouldn't need to previously? That would be sad.

You could make their account for them (with a password you know), set thing up, and then hand it over.

FWIW, I haven't run into any scrolling problems (including T7740) in either of these browsers
Apr 28 2015
Oh, I was about to update with map, but I'm slow ><
I didn't know what the procedure for that was. I noticed that sometimes you guys have exclusively veggie commits

The plot thickens...
We've messed with a bit but do not actively use it. The ctrl-click and middle-click on notifications don't seem to work on secure.phab either (unless you're implying that maybe quicksand made them work?)
Almost certain it did. Updated last night and one of my users called this out first thing in the morning. Not sure exactly which version I updated from, but my database dump from the previous update was timestamped phab.20150407_034445Z.sql.gz
kk. As a note, in my opinion at least, I think the main burden is not that it has to be clicked, it's that often I don't want to leave the page I'm on. So what I do now usually is just open in new tab and then immediately close the new tab.
In T7887#108441, @btrahan wrote:Still very interested in any additional color on the problem here - e.g. examples of useless notifications no one wants to hear about and that you have no way of silencing to begin with
Apr 22 2015
Yeah, reasonable enough. Sometimes I'm just feeling picky and don't want the extra formatting on it though.
Where this seems to get me the most is on "close" actions: a diff is closed, an audit is closed, a task is closed, etc.
Apr 14 2015
Yeah, that seems like the most intuitive thing to me.
I agree. The first many times I had to do this I kept trying to do something like
Action → Change Status → Close As Duplicate

Nope. Sad.

For better or for worse, we're on Exchange. It mostly works.
