I expected to add additional actions into the header, so it should be easy to do.

@chad, do you have any general ideas on what this might look like offhand? It would be good to get a rough first iteration of a direction while I'm tackling ApplicationEditor since all the "generic batch editor" stuff will happen at some point in that process.

my mistake, off to RTFM
Created Dashboard.
Creating Dashboards in general is a pretty poor experience right now. :(

Panels have projects for searching panels, not objects within the panels. You need to create a custom query in Maniphest with your search, save it, and assign it to a panel.
Created Dashboard.
Can you please list the full steps for us to reproduce?

Closing because we aren't able to reproduce this.

I think this task is just T4984
@chad - do you think that warrants a new task, or ultimately it's one and the same with this one?
I suppose the root problem more clearly state is: New users without access to the default dashboard should have better experience finding/installing an accessible dashboard.
I was thinking in the context of this task's issue - Users who do not have access to the default dashboard are presented with "You Shall Not Pass". If there was a /dashboards link directing users to available dashboards, they could select one to use - and try different ones if they were so inclined. I would not expect all users to figure out they would have to click "Manage" and then "Install" unless there were instructions presented.
I'm not sure adding "Install" here makes sense. It makes a lot of assumptions you know whats on the dashboard and you come to this page to toggle between them frequently? At least it's helpful to know why it'd be useful here as there may be a better product to build somewhere (like switching between multiple dashboards).
As a workaround, I created a specific dashboard for the collaborators, and am instructing them to visit the dashboard manually via direct link in order to install it. Otherwise they are presented with this:

Will provide asap
The full stack track from your PHP error log would be useful as well.
I've not seen this before, so we would definitely need more steps to reproduce if you can come up with them.

I was just filling near identical task... well here it is, copied verbatim:

The "role" stuff is mostly just practical/technical: we have to do about 95% of the same work whether we end up with multiple configurable sets of defaults or a single set of defaults.
This seems like it should be two separate tasks to me. Basically:
- Make Dashboards better
- Have user defaults admin settable (email, time, language, diff display)

at least, I think I converted it all the way.
Phame is on ApplicationSearch, so the bug is something else.

The "Unbreak Now!" case is the only one I consider important. Similar behavior might be nice for "Needs Triage" + viewerprojects(). I can't think of any case that does not involve tasks since I expect the common case for audits, reviews, feeds, etc to be that there are results.
PhabricatorHomeMainController is synchronous, DashboardPanel is asynchronous. This makes changing any behavior fairly difficult. We don't like to hide things, either. So ... we're at make the fallback smaller, which may or may not be something everyone agrees is correct.

No worries - at least there is a workaround for now!
We know it's rough, sorry!
I see the issue, I went to search and created the advanced query there instead of going to Maniphest and creating it in there.
If you followed these directions, your saved query should show up on that list. You can check if you saved if by going back to Maniphest and seeing if it's on the left side nav.
Does your /maniphest/ look like this?
Hmm, I don't have that option in mine. Is the problem that my query doesn't yet return any results? I'm mostly trying to set this stuff up for later.
Select "Tasks" under "Search For".
Sorry for dragging this on further, but I actually tried these steps before opening the task and I didn't see a way to select my existing query. Where in this UI should my query be appearing?
This is approximately filed as T5307. The workaround right now is:

Resolved-ish, will improve more down the road.
Would roles be able to have a list of default Projects (or Space?) which members of the role are added to? Or should we expect to migrate to role-based permissions?
I saw this note and got excited
...since we'll probably begrudgingly overload "roles" into permissions eventually (e.g., allow role-based policy rules).

This seems very likely. I'll take a look.
(I haven't tried to reproduce this.)

This hasn't bothered me, and the alternative seems like it'd slow the page down.
In the redesign, there is now a icon linking to the full results. Not sure anything else is needed here.
