I believe what the original poster is asking for is a condition filtering system for panel queries. Something similar to how Herald rules are setup so that multiple conditions have to be passed for results to show up. At the moment panels can just show all the results from a selection but this could be used to setup a panel that's main query is subscribed tasks but then further filters it down to only include open tasks.

(And I think it's pretty hard to guess lengths.)
(I probably load the page like 35 million times a day, and on 50K of those the times happen to line up enough that it feels a little off.)
Mine has a placeholder, the loading times just are out of sync often enough that I see a bunch of commits and then tasks don't pop in for a bit. The panel that pops in is like 800px tall or something, and the loading indicator is like 100px, so if I'd started reading anything in the panel below it jumps 700px away.
My custom dashboards all seem to have a little placeholder panel, such that I can always tell Panel A is loading, even if B completes first.

@asherkin Thanks!

- create custom query with needed priority filter
- save query under name of your choosing
- on panel configuration (that will be used on dashboard) select that saved query from dropdown

@epriestley and @chad - wanted to follow up and hear your thoughts on this if you've had a chance to review
You can tie a dashboard to any saved query in Advanced Search
How do I rebuild the default dashboard, especially the following part?
No "Unbreak Now!" Tasks: Nothing appears to be critically broken right now.
In our case it would already be completely sufficient if I (as an admin) had a button to "install this dashboard as default home page for new users"

This is resolved for Phacility because we disabled Dashboards.

Let us know if you see anything else!
Most / all of these should be cleared up, I only tested like 6-8 of them though.
We should probably also disable the dashboards application on Phacility since the plan is for Instances to replace it anyway (T7143).
Another 5 cents on the subject:
Very true ;)
I didn't close it. ;-)
Yea, I asked Evan in IRC if he wanted reports on it and he said yes.
Phortune is a prototype application. https://secure.phabricator.com/book/phabricator/article/prototypes/
Countdowns
Differential Revisions
Files
Flags
Legal Pad
OAuth
Which Query specifically? For example, Legalpad is broken, but Macro is not. I'm only actually concerned if one of the major ones is broken.

Ankur beat me too it. I am curious if you guys have solved this particular issue via using another feature of phabricator rather than custom queries/dashboards. If so I would like to see what you guys are doing.
Happy to provide some background. This is for tracking the per-component breakdown of tasks for MemSQL's database engine. We'd be happy to jump on skype/hangouts/webex/whatever and let you poke around our setup if you'd like.
We can't show users a SQL_CALC_FOUND_ROWS because it may reveal information they don't have permission to see. We have to load all the objects and privacy filter them in the application. As you mention, there are various ways to approach this which would probably get you want you want (e.g., count for 0..99 and then show "99+", as we do on the home page), but even this is more queries than we currently need to perform (1 query to get a count, and we have to actually load all the results and privacy filter them, vs 0 queries to just render a tab title and load the tab when you click it). We don't actually issue 0 queries today, I think, but this is an optimization which is readily available now and unavailable if we implement a count.
@epriestley is the performance guardian you seek, though he is in the next castle.
@chad when you say its super costly, you mean from the SQL queries perspective? In terms of implementation it should be essentially running something like SQL_CALC_FOUND_ROWS and returning the total number along with the results to the frontend.
Can you suggest an alternative for producing this kind of report? In our case, each tab corresponds to a component in the engine, and it would be valuable to visualize the total task count per component in dashboard.
We don't plan to pursue this in the upstream as it's very costly (and the tabs are ajaxed).

To make projects useful to us, listing the associated repositories in addition to the tasks and users would be necessary.
I have tried to do the same on https://secure.phabricator.com/ by creating a dashboard for testing the issue, but here there seems to be no problem.
I have encountered the same issue on Chrome 39, Mozilla Firefox and Safari.
Is there a specific browser I should be testing?
When I 'Manage Dashboard' to re-arrange panels and drag the top panel to the bottom of the page, it gets set for that moment. But as soon as the Dashboard changes are installed or the daemons are restarted './bin/phd restart' the dashboard reverts to it's previous state.
I can't reproduce this as stated. Can you provide specific steps to reproduce?

And if you do select it for an uninstalled application, you get an exception:

This happens on Phortune Orders and Subscriptions as well.

- Aware of this. It was still very useful to have the ability to quickly get an overview of the most important tasks in a project (since those are the ones a developer is most likely to be working on). I prefer using workboards myself (so the new default works well for me), but not all users/projects do.
- Task creation from the dropdown is not context sensitive, the way the create task shortcut in the projects was. The most common Phabricator usage error I've observed so far is people forgetting to assign projects to their tasks (often resulting in those tasks "disappearing").
Jan 23 2015
- The list of tasks on the Project page was '10 tasks sorted by Priority', "All Tasks" were always another click away.
- Task creation can quickly still occur in the 'quick create' dropdown in the header on any page, not just Projects.
One option that I miss from the old project interface, is the ability to quickly create a new task in the project when viewing it.
Not all projects want/need a Workboard
I observe that there have been some changes here. Overall, very positive ... nice to have the project links default to the Workboard, which is usually where I want to go when I click.

Just my 2 cents -- I would find it very useful if there was a dashboard panel that could display an arbitrary atom feed -- including, of course, a Phame feed.

I'd probably look at making "Admin Quest Tracker" and "Setup Issues" a Dashboard Panel for Admins... somehow.
I think we can remove Support Impact from this. I've seen fewer setup/install-realted issues recently, and imagine this is going to be a long-tail task with a lot of ongoing tweaks that probably should happen post-Phacility.
What's next here? This seems like a good one to get done close to the Phacility launch and / or iterate on soon after?

Depends entirely what "Other Tools" means. Conduit and Doorkeeper will be built in means of talking to external systems. Remarkup can certainly be expanding to offer more flexibility in writing content into Phabricator. Custom Fields and Event Listeners also allow for customization. Forking and maintaining patches are also what we recommend to people who need heavy integration/customization.
Can you please articulate other options in order to integrate Phabricator with other tools (apart from rewriting everything inside it) in order to give the user something like a portal (as it appears phabricator itself to be designed to)?
I'm genuinly interested in them
Nov 27 2014
Yes, those are your options. We will never support this in the upstream.
If someone will be able to get administrator rights I think there will be a lot of "holes" to get in other than an HTML panel, and a lot more damage possible than just impersonating a user.
This task is about offering a better control (e.g., one that lets you visually click a picture of what the layout looks like, instead of selecting it from a dropdown). However, there are two related tasks in this vein; I'm going to merge them together.
We have a dashboard selector. Is this task about offering more options?
Nov 18 2014
We will never support an HTML panel type in the upstream. It can not be made secure.
We sure don't want to do that. Would either allow html in remarkup or create a new html panel type be something you'd consider?
They maintain a heavily modified fork.
