Calendar needs design work after intervening redesigns, but the views have been responsive for some time.
calendar.event.search is still pretty useless/bare-bones (you don't get very much information back), but we can expand that as use cases arise. We don't have specific needs for this yet.
T8267 briefly discussed the idea of automatically selecting an icon if one isn't provided.
Currently, there's no way to create an event without explicitly selecting an icon, so there's no way to really implement this.
This UI needs some cleanup in all browsers after some intervening redesign, but I don't see anything specifically wrong about it in Firefox at HEAD of master.
I'm just going to close this:
We can revisit this later if use cases develop, but we haven't seen any need for it yet.
This is on EditEngine + Modular Transactions now. There are probably still some remaining issues I didn't catch.
I've marked D16287 as fixing this, although it does not fix Countdown (today, only Calendar has the new behavior).

I believe there's no actual issue here outside of the RSVP/instancing issue and other issues resolved or tracked elsewhere. If there is, file a new report -- with reproduction steps -- after Calendar leaves prototype.

One problem with updating this is that recurring events currently work like this:
T9854 is also vaguely related, but fairly separate.
I think this is in reasonable shape, now.

I don't think there's anything about this specific to Dashboards.

My primary concern here is that I strongly dislike adding options to the product

I'm going to merge this into T9275, which will solve this automatically.

I think it's OK for the UI to show different stuff from the actual query fields -- it's OK to query by "Invited" but see "Attending" in the list. It's just confusing right now because it says "Attending: ..." but includes not-RSVP'd users.
A few possible directions:
(I don't like actually un-cancelling the instances because that makes cancel + reinstate not get you back to the original state, which is inconsistent with how those buttons work for other objects.)
Yeah, I think the dialog should clarify.
