Currently, there's no way to create an event without explicitly selecting an icon, so there's no way to really implement this.

We could move "icon" off the create flow and make it a separate action, but that feels kind of heavy/weird to me offhand

This could make sense in the future if we add lighter-weight creation methods (maybe after T8057) but I'm just going to leave a note there to think about this when we get to it for now.
