- Mentioning the monogram of a thread (like Z1336) should link it (like T123, etc).
- We should either make this more discoverable in the UI, or provide some alternate syntax (like %general_chat) which we make more discoverable in the UI.
- My guess is that an alternate syntax probably isn't worth the trouble and it will be rare to casually mention a room. I anticipate references to specific messages being much more common. This implies sticking Z123 in the UI somewhere.
- Some future typeahead/search-based remarkup assistance "embed an object..." mode might further lower the difficulty of finding a thread/room.

I assume this is (and T7757) are v2 features?
@chad - any thoughts on the ui treatment here? (From the task description "This implies sticking Z123 in the UI somewhere.")
One thing we could maybe do is make this all work correctly and just implement T7757 in terms of it showing up in the ui: "Timestamps in threads and rooms should be anchors which link to a permanent URI for a given message." So users who notice that will be in the money... Long term, some future typeahead / search based remarkup can handle the rest.
