✘ Merged into T5873.
I think long term we'd likely move Quick Create into a generic bookmarks type tool, which you could dock creation forms, workboard links, burnup charts, apps, whatever you like... But I think that's some ways off. For now most browsers support folders in the bookmarks bar and between being able to customize that or use the stock Phabricator search, getting to common apps is pretty easy.
I'll let @chad have the final word on this, but I don't think we have any plans to pursue it. We previously had a persistent "applications" side menu/dock thing, which wasn't quite the same, but was a lot less useful than we'd thought it would be and which many users deeply hated.
I posted a comment about this on the Chromium issue: https://code.google.com/p/chromium/issues/detail?id=352347#c60
I think it creates an unacceptable security risk to put a possibly auto-filling hidden input in the same form. Even though the browser may not submit it, it could be picked up by Javascript serialization (and probably is). And even if we fix all our serialization today, this behavior is extremely surprising and could easily be forgotten about. I don't want to create even a small risk of submitting user credentials unknowingly over the wire to correct this UI annoyance.
A separate form won't work. Chrome autofills into both forms.
It seems like the way forward here is:
