For the record, yes, FreeBSD is quite similar and what @chandlerc wrote is very much applicable to our community as well.

A related request from FreeBSD is the ability to add arbitrary email addresses to the CC.

Or we need to at least document (in the FreeBSD workflow) how it should be formatted.
