Description

See T2683 and T2683. Building and populating a table with the edges of the commit graph should give us a reasonable line of attack on both issues.

We now build this going forward, but existing installs need to run a script to get the data populated historically. We need to figure out how to tell them to do that, or how to do it automatically.
