Commits to github branch close Differential revision
Closed, ResolvedPublic

Description

We're evaluating migrating from github to Phabricator, and while we don't have CI etc set up yet, we're using Differential for code review and still pushing to a remote branch on github to run tests and ship our changes. We've been noticing that commits to the remote branch (ie. updating the revision on Github) will close the Differential revision (for example https://finxpc.phacility.com/D6). I think I understand why this happens, but it's inconvenient. Is there a way to only have this behavior for master, or to reopen these revisions?

Event Timeline

This question has been coming up rather frequently lately; maybe we should expose the branch configuration more prominently somehow?

@venky: repository -> manage -> branches -> autoclose only.

Maybe link it in the "Explain why" dialog?

The other thing that was confusing was that "Config" didn't actually have all the settings -- some settings are in Config, some user settings are in my "profile", some other settings are in individual apps. It would help to consolidate these into one directory.
