This probably already works, on the backend, but needs:

  • adding UI for it (edit, edit history, etc -- T11401 is similar; and "this was edited" indicator);
  • making all the JS for the UI work (normal edit JS probably needs at least a few tweaks);
  • making the JS/notification stuff fancy so edits propagate in realtime.

I'm going to de-scope this for now since I don't think it's terribly important, but is fairly complicated, and "v4" already has a ton of stuff in it. This should happen after UI-impacting changes like T3597 anyway.

T11401 is closely related and possibly entangled.
