Also, probably should be in a separate task, but the ability to outright delete a column/list would be useful, especially since active tasks can exist in hidden columns which is very confusing.

Most people want to view the comments mode, with task details. Maybe default to that, but then have a toggle for showing the edit controls instead?

(from my merged T5675) I think the most confusing aspect of the current behavior is when a task exists in two separate projects. Dragging a card up or down in a list can change the priority globally, which then silently reorders cards on all other boards the card appears on. This can be confusing for other teams, who seem to lose control of their own boards.

No, since there's no way for a person to drop cards into a workboard without also categorizing them into a list (in competing projects). The "Backlog" column has to exist in Maniphest because anybody can add cards to projects, and they have to go somewhere on the workboard.
