Description

I can edit normal events just fine, but there is no edit button for recurring events.

We don't offer support or take bugs on prototype applications, in most cases. Calendar particularly is undergoing high churn and is not expected to have all features in place.

This is by design, but, I agree, we should make this a better user experience. The idea is that generated instances of recurring events can have exceptions that hold an index in the sequence of generated events, and when a recurring event is edited from say a "weekly" event to a "daily" event, the index no longer makes sense. Right now, the expected workflow is to cancel the recurring event you wish to edit, and create a new recurring event to replace it.

A more clear approach would be T8472: Allow safe editing of recurring events, which allows all non-date related fields on the recurring event to be edited. Hopefully that solves some cases.
