Thanks for the excellent product. We are really enjoying using it!
Our need: We run our sprints by having a few columns (estimated, in progress, done). When we put a ticket into the "done" column we also mark the ticket as "resolved"/etc as the case may be. When doing this it hides the ticket, as the default filter shows only open tasks. We want to see all tasks, even those that are closed by default. This is helpful during our daily standups where we discuss what we closed the previous day.
It seems to me this could be a general feature: "set the default filter" on a workboard.
