Description

  1. Click on embedded attachment thumbnail.
  2. Scroll down to reveal the rest of the image.
  3. Observe the lightbox status bar awkwardly overlapping the image at an absolute position where the bottom of the screen used to be.

Browser: Google Chrome for Mac (v39, stable channel).

Expected: Either the status bar stays fixed, or the image should be scaled down to fit.

There are some problems very similar that seem to be common to Chrome on Mac. See https://phabricator.wikimedia.org/T78075 and https://phabricator.wikimedia.org/T78077.

Can you try to do the same in Firefox, please?

It's fixed in Chrome Canary (v41) Mac.

Still present in Chrome Version 40.0.2214.45 beta (64-bit) Don't have Canary on this machine.

Yeah, I looked at beta too. I spent about an hour on this, but ultimately every "solution" exhibited the same problems. I only have HiDPI Macs though, unclear if that might be part of the issue.

Confirmed that in Chrome Canary 41 41.0.2266.2, the image scales down instead of having a scrollbar.

I don't intend to fix this unless Chrome's fix doesn't make it to production.

This has been a few months, any idea if there was a resolution?

Chrome 41 is current and does not reproduce this.
