Dashboards for Maniphest Tasks do not should a Group By header like they do for Differential. This in part is because Maniphest has a different UI stack, which should be updated to PHUI libraries for consistency, less code maintenance.

The group by works perfectly from the /manifests/ search page showing up the nice list of tasks as described above with my leet ascii arts.
It is when reusing that search query on a dashboard panel that the group by disappear.

I can confirm that grouping works, just the headers do not display. Maniphest still returns old custom headers and hasn't been modernized yet, so they are just hidden on dashboards.

The tasks are properly grouped when shown in the dashboard. As you said, headers should be displayed.
