It seems that mailing lists cannot be deleted. I think that it is reasonable to be able to delete mailing lists as, after time, they may no longer be relevant and/or in use.

Hopefully this application will just die some day, but that day is probably a long ways away.
Like other objects, we should ideally let you disable but not delete them from the web UI; we could add bin/remove destroy support for them for real deletion. But they don't currently have monograms, and giving email monograms to them (versus external users -- how will this even work) is probably not such a hot idea. They could get undiscoverable pseudo-monograms like "mailinglist:1" I guess.
But it's hard to justify the effort to bring this up to spec with ApplicationTransactions or anything else modern since hopefully some day it will just burn up and die.
