TL = topic list? Can you describe this a little bit more? I'm not sure I understand it.

Prevent duplication of iotas or even full categories of information

The idea here is something like: you discover that engineering/best_practices_for_hashing_passwords/ and security/good_password_hashing/ are basically the same document, so you merge them and then redirect one?

This is pretty old and doesn't meet the requirements of a modern feature request (notably, clear definition of a root problem). Feel free to file a new request if this is still an issue. Particularly helpful would be discussion of why editing the page to say "Go see <other page>" is insufficient.
