Description

I'm trying to add Phriction to our Dashboard but the issue is that we have multiple departments and I'd like to split it up. For example, have a wiki for Development and have a wiki for Design.

  • Lets say we have 5 devs and 5 designers, on the Desingers Dashboard I only want to see wiki entries made by one of the 5 designer, not the entire wiki.

I can't seem to create a custom query for that, maybe because im creating my custom queries the wrong way.
I created one by just searching for the things i wanted to be able to see then saving that search but that seems to save a custom search filter not a query I can use later.

But when I create a new panel on my dashboard i only see 3 options ( All, Active and Updated ) I don't see my custom Query so what ends up happening is that the entire Phriction (wiki) is shown.

This is the setup for the design team Doc

You're not creating a custom query, at least in that screenshot. The query is "All Documents", which is what you're getting.

I think this is a design problem, and a common misunderstanding of what a "Dashboard Panel" is. The "Design" tag here is for labeling/grouping of "Dashboard Panels". It does not affect the query.

Phriction also does not have Tag support (see D14652, T9622).

I'll create a separate task to re-think Panel creation UI.

Your best workaround for now is multiple text panels for each organization.

Thank you we basically created two projects to group the members into those two projects and i removed myself and only stayed in one and that seemed to kind of work. I see only the files i expected but also some deleted files history that is greyed out. It would be nice to have an easy place to put custom queries to be used for each of the apps but I love Phabricator so keep up the good work thanks.

Create a custom query inside Phriction, save it, then go to Dashboards and make a Panel with that query.
