When I want to merge task, I need to search for original task in new window, and use Merge Duplicates feature.
IMO Maniphest really wants to have "Merge Task As Duplicate" feature, it will save thousands of people hours.
So, instead of opening new window, just clicking on "Merge Task" and picking right task from the list.
