Hello, phabricator team. Thanks for your work. I hope this request isn't frivolous and frustrating.
Your guidelines say to describe a problem instead of the solution. So, problem:
We recently upgraded from an old version of phabricator (from ~2 years ago; I'm sorry but I don't have the version number/hash) and have our repositories set up in diffusion as remotes with file:// uris. In our workflow, phabricator is largely handling code review, while other services handle repository serving/access control. These repos still work, but our workflow to set up new ones is broken: the remote uri box no longer permits file:// uris. I understand that 'hosted repos' is the intended way to connect phabricator to local repos, but it's frustrating to go through https://secure.phabricator.com/book/phabricator/article/diffusion_hosting/ (and change internal tools/documentation on our side) when the current repos seem to be working fine.
Is there any way phabricator could continue to support local, non-managed repos?
Have a nice day,
