Meeting with Facebook
= Attendees =
- Facebook
-- Edward Speyer
-- Emir Habul
-- Jason Ge
-- Nick Harper
-- Jakub Vrána
- Phacility
-- Evan Priestley
-- Bob Trahan
= Notes =
- Desire to share more roadmap information and other plans
-- Continue raising internal Facebook tasks / requests to public Maniphest
-- Start Maniphest tasks for "bigger picture" requests
-- Some discussion of more of a shared roadmap with no real resolution (talk to Evan...! :D )
- Releeph demo by Edward Speyer - internal release tool for Facebook engineering
-- Lots of side discussion about how various Releeph features intersect with the existing code and / or future plans
- Evan Priestley plans to work on drydock and notes that there's lots of little things that come up so hard to commit to specific timeframe(s). For example, today is working on Mercurial daemons to improve performance for 250K+ commit repos. Generally going to keep on leading Phabricator development.
- Jason Ge plans to sync Phabricator notifications with Facebook internal notifications. Small risk here of Phabricator notifications framework having issues / delays. Some discussion about utility and usage of Facebook internal tool. Jason is also working on integrating static analysis results as Maniphest tasks. Plan is to do a pass and pick off any big systematic issues before getting into regularly filing tasks on a per issue basis.
- Emir Habul plans to help Edward on Releeph. Some thoughts / plans to move hypershell to use libphutil.
- Nick Harper (or his intern) will be doing some arc integration tests to prevent any Facebook workflows breaking when updating these tools. He also wants to build some sort of logging system for Phabricator where the data flows back into Facebook's data warehouse. Evan notes some performance data is already logged.
- Jakub Vrana doing arc lint and arc unit asynchronous hooks. At Facebook these flows consume too much developer time when done synchronously. Idea is about changing overall flow to have some parts running while developer inputting text. Tricky part in that lint must happen before unit tests.
- Bob Trahan is working on phacliity.com. In terms of Phabricator, that involves some Phame changes to get the blog appearing on a different domain. Bob also plans to pick off a low pri task or two and get married, honeymoon'd etc in June.
