  • You can, e.g., Google for Phabricator pretty easily, so I don't think this presents much of a barrier.
  • When possible, we prefer users report issues to a local point of contact, not directly to us. A lot of issues are caused by local patches, out-of-date versions, configuration, etc., which we can't do anything about but a local point of contact can help a user resolve.
  • I prefer to tread lightly with this kind of branding. I think it's sometimes kind of tacky, and assume the primary goal is advertising/self-promotion.
  • We get plenty of feedback right now, so this doesn't really solve a problem from the upstream perspective. It's possible that efforts to make it easier to file bugs would increase volume but decrease quality. Overall, we've tended to raise barriers to giving us feedback over time (writing a lot more guidance about how to file a good report, decreasing the number of external channels we support/monitor) in an effort to improve quality.
  • WMF and other installs can add a link in the footer to us, but we'd prefer they not: instead, we'd prefer they point at a local point of contact and that person or team report issues they can't resolve on their own to the upstream.
  • In the specific case of hitting an error, see T302.
