I'm unable to define a custom field with a type of 'link'.
This works:
{"mycompany:motto": {"name": "Project Motto", "type": "text"}}
This doesn't:
{"mycompany:motto": {"name": "Project Motto", "type": "link"}}
According to the docs, it should work.
I can save the config entry, but then it doesnt appear in projects.fields
What version of Phabricator are you running? You can find it in the header in Config → All Settings. It should look like this:
Your version of Phabricator is from April 16th. The "link" field type was added about a week later, on April 24th. See D12543.
Please upgrade Phabricator before filing issues; problems are very often fixed by upgrading. See:
