Allow adding Policies to Custom Fields
Closed, WontfixPublic

Description

Allow adding custom policies to custom fields. I have made my task creation form with custom fields and there is a requirement to add only a few specific users with special privileges to be able approve the task. It would be very beneficial when implementing task approval chain before it is assigned to the user.

I am following PMP and PRINCE2 based techniques to make the processes more fluid. And, it is advisable to have a Task approval chain too, similar to approving Diffs in differential. If the above feature can be incorporated it will benefit many project managers and streamline execution of tasks.

My request is to add this for custom field, because it can then be done by individuals as per the project need, rather than releasing it as a general task field.

If there are any documentations to support this, please share. I will help myself and try to incorporate this.

It's our general recommendation to installs that have such specialized needs to use a software product better suited to the task.

Thank you Chad, for taking this up. I am trying to understand the code, and attempting to implement this functionality.

We don't plan to implement this in the foreseeable future. If you need extremely granular control over field permissions, we recommend considering other software which is better suited to heavier process-oriented workflows.
