Checkboxes should not create bullet lists by default

Description

I would like to propose that checkboxes do not create bullet lists by default, or a syntax/option should exist to trigger the user's desired behavior. For example, when I type this:

  • Subtask 1
  • Subtask 2
  • Subtask 3

I would like to see this:
