Closed, WontfixPublic

Description

Hi,

it would be cool if one can :

Calendar's improvements

  • put a deadline to some task and calendar display them to suscribers
  • put some event in project and and calendar display them to project menbers

Task's improvements

  • add dependency task (task that has to be done to start the depend one (no like subtask that can be done in the same time)
  • not only open or close but depending on Project : i think its on the way with T390
  • change % of work done

Project

  • Gant view of all the task

Just some cents,

Ps : some $...$ remarkup to format some doge like beautiful software, incredible developper many pleasure in comic sans :)

In the future, maybe just open 1 task per idea, that way we can keep it, merge it, whatever. It's hard to do anything specifically with jumbo tasks like this other than just close them.

Calendar
The eventual goal is to have Calendar in more places like tasks, projects, workboards. Some of these areas are already mocked out. Calendar in general though isn't on our current Roadmap. But I personally like it, and have been updating the UI over the past month. I'll file a task somewhere to track.

Maniphest
Not entirely sure I understand what you mean by sub-task vs. dependency. Are you asking to not allow closing of a task if a sub-task exists? Overall we prefer to not add such structure, as it complicates the UI and most installs won't use it. Generally, it's something we prefer teams to handle on their own (socially). You can also get more background here T4207.

T1812: Allow for arbitrary values for task status is another task you may want to follow.

I'm not sure what you're referring to with % of work done? If that's something you'd like to track per task, maybe custom_fields? Giving a percentage of subtasks done seems arbitrary, and we'll leaning more on Workboard to give an overview of a project's status.

We have no current plans for Gantt views, feel free to file a specific task to gauge interest. Workboards will be our focus for at least the next year as far as project management goes.
