Description

It would be really helpful to have a date chooser for date fields. especially for date fields in search or filter queries.

I believe this was an explicit decision, although I can't find the discussion offhand. The theory is that date range queries are often faster and easier to type into a text box than use an input for ("july 2013", "yesterday"). That said, we may revisit this.
