Thx u :3 should be easier to type on it's own line, by itself, with send-on-enter in Conpherence.

Can you just type :+3+Space?

We could auto-dismiss the picker when you type "3" but then if we map 3️⃣ to :3 we're in trouble.

Oh, yeah, in Conpherence you'd have to like :+3+space+delete+⏎ or something.

I don't think we're ever really going to make :3 do anything -- maybe :3monkeys or something as a shorthand for "🙈 🙉 🙊"? But we could easily cross that bridge when we come to it. 3️⃣ could be :key3 or something, and 3⃣ is already :three, not :3.
