When reviewing code, if a file is brand new or has either only additions or only deletions the files are actually harder to read because the default split view wastes a lot of empty space to the left or right of the file. It would be nice if the view recognized this and showed these files in the unified view automatically. I know you can choose to render the file in unified view but that is an extra step someone has to take. This seems like an easy change which should improve the code review process immensely since this type file change does seem to happen a lot.
