After D16041, the viewer gets pushed further down the stack and some real, real old code interprets that to mean that it's time to do magic, adding a timestamp which did not previously exist ("Sun, Jun 5").

That timestamp is ~always the current date so it's silly/useless, but not really hurting anything, so I'll probably try to clean this up properly at some point rather than hacking it back to the old behavior.
