Description

I've tried to install phabricator on master and also tried stable branch - but somehow the Project Workboard UI left alignment is broken on my instance. I also tried to follow the upgrade documentation - but it still does not fix the issue.

It seems the variable on phui-workboard.css is not mapper/updated. I've tried to run celerity few times - but it still show a lot of {$variable} placeholders on the css.

.device-desktop .phui-profile-menu-collapsed .project-board-wrapper .phui-workboard-view-shadow {
    left: {$menu.profile.width.collapsed};  
}

Is there anything I should do/purge/restart/remove in order for the variable to be applied? (since this site's Workboard is working fine without the issue)

Bug reports require reproduction steps.

Offhand, I don't see any means of reproducing this. My guess is something was done/installed/updated/pulled incorrectly on your local install. Maybe delete phabricator and re-pull down.

Sorry - not really sure how to describe the reproduction steps since it's a long deployment/upgrade steps. (in which I can mistake/skip the steps somewhere)

I thought there's cache location that I can purge or something to do to trigger any cache-busting mechanism,

The steps so far

  • run celerity map
  • run cache purge --purge-all
  • purge all apc caches

I'll try to re-pull down as you suggest. (Didn't really tried this solution since usually running script described on phabricator upgrading doc works fine for these past few months)

I've tried to re-pull down to a new folder (and copy whole conf) content - the left padding bug still occurs on our browser (this is a super old installation of phabricator. we use phabricator internally since 1-2 years ago)

Workaround

Funny thing is. When I go to Display Preferences. Change the Accessibility from Use Default Colors to another. And revert it back - and then left width bug disappear and it works fine.

The css is also properly transformed.

The fix only occurs on user that update their display preferences. Users who does not change their display preferences will get the old untransformed CSS.

Yeah nothing here is ringing "Phabricator bug", at least nothing we can solve directly, but maybe identify and test for. How are static resources from your server being delivered to the users? Do you use anything like mod_pagespeed or Rocket Loader, or a proxy?

Closing, as there's nothing here that's reproducible, or reported by other installs. Nothing else for us to look into.
