Is there a possibility to automatically comment or task (or send an email to the assignee) based on a specific task?

Scenario:
If task has status "Needs triage" -> send email to assignee (or add automatic comment to task)

It seems like the first part is possible as well as to send an email but only to a dedicated user (or tag), but not to the assignee of the task. Is there another possibility?
