Is your repo private? In this case create a credential, otherwise, if it's public you don't need it.
Then:

1. Create the repo
2. Choose "Import existing repo"
3. Enter the remote URL
4. (If your repo is private, enter the credential, choose it at the dropdown)
5. Import the repo (start import)
