Is it possible to create a template repository (for Git) which already includes a few files and to use this template repository for newly created repositories?

Something like of arc copy TEMPLATE_REPO_CALLSIGN NEW_REPO_CALLSIGN?

(I know that arc has no option copy)

Is something like this possible? The alternative I could think about would be to create a shell script which I would run in every newly created repository.
