viewed a diff standalone and saw the updated text and no edit controls. on a revision page verified the inline comments "(On Diff XXXX)" linked to the revision with that diff loaded. similarly, verified the 'id' in the "Revision Update History" linked to the revision with the diff of $id loaded.
