Description

Another usability issue that some of our users have requested. Couldn't find a previous task talking about this, so might as well post it just in case.

A number of our users on Phabricator are there mostly as stakeholders, or are focused on a limited number of projects. Consequently, their workflow is very focused on projects and maniphest. A lot of their time in Phabricator is spent working in the projects view, and switching between projects. I find this being the case even for myself, during development work on a group of tasks that cross different "projects".

It would be nice to have a quick way to switch between projects. Currently - unless the context you are in happens to have a link - the two ways to switch involve either clicking to the front page (assuming you have projects on your dashboard) and then clicking on the project - or clicking on the searchbox, typing into it and then clicking. The first approach takes an unnecessarily large amount of time (especially if the dashboard gets loaded up with a lot of activity), and the second simply requires switching from mouse to keyboard and back to the mouse.

It would be nice if one could add a drop-down menu to the top interface, allowing the user to for example have their active projects in the menu, so that one could switch between projects with two clicks from the top bar.

Or perhaps use the Flags app as in T5867, so that you have a flag after the conpherence icon that you can click on that would pop up your bookmarks (people could then flag the projects they want to be able to switch between themselves).

Note, I don't have any personal preferences here - I'm just trying to describe and communicate the issues that our users communicate to me. Thanks for all your great work on Phab.
