Need a way to bulk manage audits through UI.
Closed, DuplicatePublic

Description

Case: Project or user has got a few hundred audits because rule was to broad and/or because audits weren't reviewed in time.

Issue: No way to easily do bulk changes for audits, either delete them or change the status.

Expected: Have a way to do bulk changed though UI: delete audits, change status.

Workaround: Use scripts - fetch list of audits by audit project using "./audit delete --dry-run | grep '<project name>'", then extract ids and use "./audit --delete --ids <id>".

We get very very few requests for this, maybe 1-2 times per year, and the workflow tools via the command line are highly preferred. You can type `bin/audit delete --help for the full set of options.

The problem is that we have team of almost 30 people, everybody can create Herald rules, but only admin has access to script. I'm surprised that it is so rare situation.

Right now the current state is 'real admins' are with the ones CLI access, get the bulk delete type tools which clean up database. We have a preference to keep the web UI clean and auditable and limit admin ability to just basic setup when possible.

We'll probably, as Phacility grows, need to look at other options, maybe admin levels or super users, who knows. But we'd solve it in a complete manner, not likely in a one-off for one application. It might even make sense to add bulk-actions to every search interface, since I believe only Maniphest enjoys them right now.
