Add search by commit ID to Diffusion, Audit
Closed, ResolvedPublic

Description

Sometimes, I discover an (somewhat) old commit in my git repository that I'd like to be audited. Currently, I can't find a way to find this commit in Phabricator because there is no way to search on a (partial) commit ID.

A proposed solution would be to extend the advanced search in Diffusion and Audit with a field named 'Commit ID' that is able to filter commits on (part of) their commit ID.

If you enter at least the 7 leading characters of the commit hash, the regular search should find the commit. Do you have no access to the whole ID, so you can copy-paste the leading part?

GMTA claimed this task.

I was searching on the 6 leading characters of the ID... I was expecting a search on commit ID would work more like other applications. Thank you!
