Description

My company uses LaTeX to generate documentation (provides file-based dependency management, plain text for version control and only approved changesets result in new documentation). Would it be possible to:

  1. Trigger a build when a commit occurs on a given branch (release) of a given repository. (Pretty sure this already works)
  2. Use the build result (pdf) to be displayed/accessible within a Project. (Probably available as a download from the wiki, but kudos and tokens given for in-browser, in-Phabricator viewing)

Diviner is our documentation tool. But, it seems like your workflow (attach to project) is company specific?

It is specific to our company, which is part of the reason I am only looking for a subset (or, at least, a work around). Phabricator seems to present the most optimal workflow for my company (no tool seems to do everything we are wanting). I can achieve every requirement if I can use Herald to open Maniphest Tasks (dependency management), use Herald to run a local command or script (generate PDF) and have a means to have a file or view within Phabricator be updated with that PDF (overwritten would be fine). I'm a software developer selling it to our software division of our R&D department in a week. The more ammo I have going into the meeting, the more likely I am to convince them (the alternatives are nowhere near as nice/fast/feature rich).

Best I can think of is you'd want to write an EventListener for Projects, and add an additional "ActionItem" on the top right set of icons, and that could link to whatever you wanted.

Sounds great! I'll give it a try.

Thank you!
