Not so much an issue but more looking for guidance... Our team would like to use sub-states of Open tasks in our workflow. One easy way to do this could be project tags but that seems to get confusing. Our plan is to fork and maintain our own task states with the disadvantage of merging possibly becoming cumbersome (we forked, customized, then let it go stale and now learned our lesson).

I noticed custom fields but these look to be entirely new fields and not meant for appending existing ones. Thoughts?
